We are a player-run, non-profit organization providing opportunities for women in beach volleyball to test themselves against some of the best athletes in Western Canada by offering high caliber organized play throughout the season.

HOW IT ALL STARTED
KWVC was first started in 2017 by a group of four friends: Joanna Braun, Stephanie Sloan, Mitra Shad and Mairi Macdonald, who just wanted more chances for women to play beach volleyball competitively at beautiful Kitsilano Beach. The women’s game has since evolved tremendously across Canada and it is clear that Vancouver is a hub for the game. A lot has changed since its inception, including some of the club directors, but our goal and love of the game still stays the same.

Organized competitive play
Our events feature pool play in the morning followed by tiered playoffs in the afternoon. Teams are re-ranked after pool play based on their morning results to provide competitive matches throughout the day.
Level-based play
Open to all skill levels and ages
We welcome women and girls of all ages and skill levels. Over the past 9 years, we've managed to attract players with a variety of volleyball experience including NCAA college players, local circuit pro players and even some players currently competing on the international circuit. But with our tiered playoff approach, you will always have the chance to compete with players at your level.
